I have passed along the A30 quite literally thousands of times. I've lived in Exeter most of my life. Growing up, most Saturdays were spent exporing Dartmoor as a family. On longer days, we'd travel up to the North Devon or Cornwall coast. If you find yourself travelling the A30, we recommend you stop off at Hog & Hedge.
Look out for the green pig signs as you approch Whiddon Down!
To be honest, we've never come across anywhere quite like this before. Really good coffee, home-made food using fresh ingredients, a welcoming cosy interior and the convience of a motorway services. It's a unique concept and it works!
The Food
As a supplier to Hog & Hedge, we can tell you first hand that they don't sell any old food! Attention is paid to every ingredient and these are kept natural and pure. Anything cooked on the premises is made from scratch using fresh ingredients from local suppliers where possible. You can really taste it!
The Coffee
With expertly blended and hand roasted beans, ground onsite by trained baristas, this is no ordinary coffee. Available to take away if you don't have time to stop.
The Interior
Cosy and welcoming with comfortable sofas if you want to relax, and plenty of tables if you need to work. A play area for children and pristine loos!
There is an earthy natural vibe with lots of plants and natural materials.
We love the wall art!
So, if you're planning a journey along the A30 anytime soon, make sure you allow time to stop off at Hog & Hedge for good food & good coffee in a homely setting.
